I am offering contemporary piano lessons for all ages in my NW Calgary home or within the comfort of your own home either in-person or virtually.

 

I have been playing and writing music since I was 10! I am a civil engineer by day and a musician in my second life, hence why I teach and release music still. I have several folk / rock releases on Spotify and Apple Music under the name Michael J Copley with new releases scheduled continually. Most recently I won Peoples Choice Best Music Video at Central Alberta Film Festival for my song "You Know How It Is."

WHAT TO EXPECT

Each teacher has their own style. I like to adjust to the needs of my students. Certain genres may resonate better with one person than another. Some people learn by ear and others learn by visually reading music. 

 

In lessons we may explore how to read music by learning notes and styles or learn music by ear using chords, charts, and the structure behind improvization. I look forward to meeting with, and facilitating your creative development!
